Two type of thread are distinguished :
-Parallel threads, which have a constant diameter (G). It used mainly for mechanical connection To joint the pipes, pipe fitting, fluid machinery, etc.
-Taper threads, whose diameter increase or decrease along the length of the thread ( R). It used mainly for pressure-tight joints on the threads for jointing pipe, pipe fitting, fluid machinery, etc. They always used a taper external thread, but can have either parallel or taper internal threads.
